What We Do
Backyard Brains develops low-cost, open-source bioamps called “SpikerBoxes” that allow a tractable way to introduce neuroscience techniques to your teaching labs, either in a traditional classroom setting or remotely with online teaching. Our focus is on hands-on experiments and electrophysiology. Our pioneering work has been recognized with awards from the National Institutes of Health and the Society for Neuroscience. We even received a presidential award at the White House. Our work has been featured 9 times on TED, covering a wide range of subjects from invertebrates to humans to plants! Stop by for some electrifying demos.
